Snap Finance UK
(UK Financial Services, ~£30M+ revenue, ~100+ employees)
The Challenge
As a successful, rapidly growing UK Financial Services organisation Snap Finance UK ("Snap") wanted to strengthen its governance arrangements to support further growth but did not have sufficient in-house expertise or experience in the data protection & privacy area.
Snap asked Ringfence to use its Information Governance pack and expertise to help improve Snap's data protection & privacy governance, aligning this with wider governance improvements and also Snap’s US parent’s governance expectations.
Ringfence's Solution
Working with key members of Snap’s Executive team Ringfence tailored and implemented its Information Governance pack to fully align with and support Snap’s wider governance arrangements.
Ringfence also established a high-level Snap UK Customer journey to use as an overall understanding and framework to develop lower-level Data Flows documents for all areas that Snap processes personal data (Customers, Brokers/Retailers, Employees/3rd Party Personnel & Site Visitors).
As part of this Ringfence worked with relevant Snap Managers and key team members to check and improve personal data processing across Snap, including privacy notices, lawful basis and 3rd party contractual arrangements (including with Snap’s US parent for IT services provision).
Ringfence also helped update and rollout improved privacy related training and processes across Snap, ensuring that Snap became fully self-sufficient in terms of future data protection & privacy capability.
Ringfence was also able to provide wider “value-add” CIO/IT Director advice and support to Snap executives due to becoming more familiar with Snap’s IT & Digital landscape
Key Outcomes
A stronger, better Data Protection & Privacy framework & capability for Snap, fully integrated and aligned with wider Snap UK governance.
